Captain Ross is RETIRING!

After 28 years of loyal service to Caddo Parish Fire District 5, Captain Richard Ross is retiring.  We wish him only the best in all of his endeavors.

We hope you find our web presence to be both educational and entertaining.

What we do

Provide emergency medical services including transportation and fire protection to the citizens in Caddo Fire District 5. Our district is located in the southeastern part of Caddo Parish, Louisiana. It extends from the Shreveport city limits to the Desoto Parish and Red River Parish lines on the south end and from the Red River to Wallace Lake Road on the west end.

Facilities and Equipment

  • Four fire stations with two manned 24/7 and two for storage of apparatus that are retrieved as needed.
  • Five engines (pumpers), three water tenders (tankers), two brush trucks, three medic units (ambulances), two quick response vehicles, one chief's vehicle, and a firefighter rehabilitation trailer.
