Five people, including
two children, have been
taken to local hospitals
following a two vehicle
crash near the campus of LSU-Shreveport.
Two witnesses told KSLA
News 12 a silver compact car
headed south on East Kings
Highway around 8 a.m. Friday
suddenly veered into
oncoming traffic near
University Place. The car
was hit head-on by a Ford
Expedition. Both vehicles
showed signs of a violent
crash, with car parts
scattered over a wide field.
According to witnesses,
the car was carrying a man
and woman, while the SUV
contained a woman and two
young girls. All five were
transported to the hospital,
although the people in the
car appeared to have
suffered the more serious
injuries, witnesses said.
A woman who was in the car
was unconscious when she was
loaded into an ambulance,
they said. The two
children, witnesses said,
appear to have suffered
injuries from their
seatbelts.
A crash team with the
Caddo Sheriff's Office is on
scene investigating the
accident.
