A truck driver was trapped for almost 3 hours, and It was a real challenge for our members to extricate the driver as the 18 wheeler's cab was jammed in a ditch and wedged against a tree with the trailer on top of the cab.  Live Air Rescue was called to the scene.  Mutual aid assistance from SFD Rescue 9 for manpower and special tools responded upon request from Chief Boucher.

The driver was extricated and flown by Life Air Rescue to the LSUMC for treatment, but does not appear to have life threatening injuries.

The accident happened on Highway 1 at the Caddo Parish-Red River Parish line.

State Police say it appears the driver might have been going too fast for a curve.
